I managed to source a couple of new ROMs with known good images, and then
i desoldered all the chips, cleaned the board, added sockets and the new
roms ...

And nothing changed :-/

It behaved exactly the same ... which at least indicates that i did not
ruin it further.

My next step will be to try and identify the individual chips, source some
new ones, and switch them one by one until ... "something" happends.

Any other advice?
